Press Release – Travel

MEDIA RELEASE: October 2022

Half of residents plan on vacationing outside Bermuda within the next six months.

BERMUDA: With COVID-19 restrictions easing, and the holiday season approaching, we asked residents whether they have any international vacation travel plans in the coming six months. Overall, many do, with half of residents (52%) intending to travel for a vacation in the next six months, while two in ten who are uncertain (19%).  Compared with just under a year ago, in December 2021, travel intentions remain largely unchanged.

Of those planning to travel, the United States is by far the most common destination (59%), while many are planning to travel to the United Kingdom (31%), the Caribbean (17%), Canada (16%) and Europe (11%). While the proportion of residents planning to travel holds steady with last year, a greater proportion are now planning to travel to the Caribbean for vacation (up 10 points).

These results reflect opinions of 367 adult Bermuda residents (18 years of age or older), conducted from September 1st – 20th, 2022. The questions are not commissioned by a third party and were collected independently by Narrative Research Bermuda. The results presented in this document were collected from Narrative Research Bermuda’s proprietary online panel of adult residents, Bermuda Voice. Per industry standards, a margin of error cannot be ascribed to online survey results.
